The Department for the Blind is seeking to fill a Program Administrator position. This individual will be responsible for developing long and short-term plans, goals and objectives for the library program and supervising up to eighteen (18) positions. Duties and responsibilities to include the following:
*       Investigate, develop, recommend and implement alternative methods for service delivery; additional services or service enhancements to ensure optimal use of library services by the greatest number of eligible users.
*       Individual will investigate alternative sources of funding including writing, applying for, securing and monitoring grant resources.
*       Will perform assignments at the discretion of the Department Director which impact the performance of the department as a whole, including: co-authoring and editing the department's annual report, strategic plan and other documents representing the department in "enterprise-wide" initiatives.
*       Represent the department and the library in discussions, public forums or other collaboration. Audiences include consumers (Library Consumer Advisory Committee; support groups; statewide consumer organizations); libraries (Consortium of User Libraries) in the ongoing funding and development of the libraries automated system; the national network of libraries for the blind and physically handicapped; other state agencies.
*       Participate in management and supervisory team deliberations, planning and implementation of actions which affect the departments performance overall.
*       Requires the ability to manage human resources; directing, mentoring, training and counseling staff and volunteers.
*       Knowledge of federal, state, and agency policies, regulations and guidelines.

Minimum Qualifications Graduation from an accredited four year college or university and the equivalent of four years of full time professional level experience such as program administration, development, management or operations.
