Job Description:
Family and Social Services Administration is looking for a candidate that possesses strong leadership skills as this position oversees all aspects of the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS) which includes Vocational Rehabilitation Services, Deaf and Hard of Hearing Services, and Blind and Visually Impaired Services. Potential candidates must be able to demonstrate a high level of independence and a proficient level of knowledge of law and federal regulations. This position requires that candidates be able to maintain a professional and accessible relationship with the approximately 35,000 consumers with disabilities they will be interacting with, as well as the 300 staff that they are managing. The BRS Director oversees an annual budget of approximately $80 million therefore a broad knowledge of financial management is useful. This position demands that candidates be able to prioritize and balance the vast responsibilities; therefore organizational skills are essential.

Preferred Experience:
Incumbents must obtain a Masters Degree in Rehabilitation or any related field. A practical understanding of Federal and State budgets and financial management procedures is desired. Likewise, knowledge of regulations such as Americans with Disabilities Act, etc. is preferred. Potential candidates must be able to communicate in a effective manner both written and orally.
