Vision Rehabilitation Therapy Symposium Taking Place at Salus University

 

What:                    A Vision Rehabilitation Therapy (VRT) symposium to
address the challenges being faced by the profession titled, VRT: Strategic
Planning and Advisory Symposium. The symposium is being co-sponsored by
Salus' College of Education and Rehabilitation and Vision Serve Alliance,
which represents private and non-profit blindness agencies.

 

When:                  April 4 and 5

9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day

 

Where:                Salus University, 8360 Old York Road, Elkins Park, PA
19027

Details:                Salus University is one of only six universities in
North America to offer a degree program in VRT. They are the only
institution offering both low vision and vision rehabilitation degrees. 

 

                Challenges to be discussed include:

.         The differences in urban and rural treatment methods

.         Vision deterioration due to a population that is living and
working longer

.         The scope of the VRT professional

.         Universal teaching concepts

.         Higher number of returning vets requiring vision rehabilitation
