*Job Description:*



This position serves as the Deputy Director of Operations and the
Communication Center and exists to provide branch wide leadership,
coordination, and management of central operations and statewide
communication center services to Minnesotans who are blind, visually
impaired, deafblind, or have a print disability, their families, federal or
state governmental entities, and private businesses. This position has
delegated responsibility for the following:

- Branch wide fiscal management and federal reporting for 5 distinct
funding streams.

- Application of federal, state, foundation, and endowment financial
planning, financial management, and reporting.

- Communication Center which provides the transcription of print to braille
and audio; lending material and equipment; broadcast of material via
telephone, internet, and radio; and satellite and sub channel engineering
infrastructure.

- Policy development and deployment, customer appeals, support to the
Statewide Rehabilitation Council for the Blind (SRCB) and its committees.

- Quality Assurance, Training, Needs Assessment, Customer Satisfaction and
Continuous Improvement.

- Technology and Information Systems Non-technical functionality and manage
website content.

- Building management and overall employee safety.

Position includes some traveling within the State of Minnesota (about 5%).

*Minimum Qualifications:*



Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling, business, public
administration, or closely related field and five years of supervisory or
management experience;

OR

A Bachelor's Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Business, Public
Administration, or closely related field and seven years of supervisory
experience.

To meet the minimum qualifications, supervisory/managerial experience must
be within the past 10 years. In addition, experience must include at least
four years working with fiscal/financial administration, including budget
management.

in developing a technology solution to solve a program problem and
experience in working with website content.

Blindness. Describe any connection, knowledge, experience you have with
blindness.

Communication. Describe your knowledge and experience in the areas of
reasonable accommodations and producing accessible materials.

Oral and Written Communications Skills and Abilities. Describe your
experiences in public speaking and written communications, including the
development and explanation of relatively complex material to diverse
audiences. NOTE: Your written communication skills will initially be
evaluated based on the overall content and clarity of your application
materials.
