*Job Duties*

Reports directly to the Chief of Staff; develops, implements, and manages
an EIT accessibility program within the Ohio Secretary of State's Office;
the program will ensure that the office's electronic and information
technology services, websites, and documents are compliant with the
non-discrimination provisions of Title II of the Americans with
Disabilities Act and other relevant Ohio and federal laws; Work with
internal and external stakeholders to implement accessible website(s),
online services, and electronic documents; Determine need for, and
coordinate, periodic third party accessibility audits of SOS websites,
online services, and electronic documents; Design and implement a training
program for staff who produce electronic documents and/or content for the
SOS website to ensure staff create accessible electronic information
resources; Coordinate with vendors who produce electronic information
resources or electronic information technology for the SOS office to ensure
that vendors deliver accessible electronic information resources/technology.

*Minimum Qualifications*

Completion of Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education
and experience.

At least 1 year of experience implementing new processes in a structured
environment.

Experience with disability non-discrimination provisions of state and
federal laws or at least 1 year experience in regulatory compliance.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with
stakeholders from all levels of a complex organization.

*Supplemental Information*

*Preferred Qualifications: *Strong understanding of functional
accessibility of websites, web applications, and electronic documents for
people with disabilities.

Experience evaluating and/or remediating websites, web applications, and
electronic documents for compliance with recognized accessibility standards
like W3C WCAG 2.0 and PDF/UA; strong understanding of the relationship
between conformance with standards and functional usability/accessibility
for users with disabilities.

Significant knowledge of current and emerging accessibility development
practices and assistive technology.

Understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

Understanding of accessibility standards WCAG 2.0 and Section 508;
awareness of regulatory trends.
