*Tyrone Spratt, Chief Business Technology Officer*

Tyrone Spratt is the Chief Business Technology Officer with Minnesota IT
Services. He partners with the Department of Agriculture, Board of Animal
Health, and the Department of Labor and Industry. He has been an employee
of the state for 16 years and began his state career as an enrollment
representative for the Minnesota Care program followed by roles with
healthcare policy, legislative coordination, project management, and IT
leadership.

Tyrone and his team create new technology-based capabilities and support
nearly 200 applications and computer systems for approximately 900 users.

Tyrone earned his undergraduate degree and MBA from Metropolitan State
University. He is active in his community as Lincoln Elementary treasurer
and recreation basketball and soccer coach. He lives in Coon Rapids
with his wife Betsy and two sons Isaac (11) and Samuel (9). Tyrone loves
being a youth basketball coach and it’s a little known fact that about him
is he is the world’s best singer – in his car.

Despite a growing minority population in the state, the Minnesota
Legislature continues to fall behind on diversity. In the state

first Native American Indian serving on the Minnesota Legislature

Allen, whose parents come from the Pine Ridge and Rosebud Reservations in
South Dakota is no stranger to economic hardship. She now represents
district 61B in Minneapolis, a district where almost half the children live
in poverty. Allen is the first Native American women to  serve on the
Minnesota Legislature and is also a member of the LGBTQ community. Allen
received her law degree in taxation at William Mitchell and her J.D from
the University of New Mexico.
