Above is a link to the Department of Education website on student loan
payment deferments and forbearances.  The site explains the difference
between the two, so I won’t take the time to do so.



Why is this important?  For one thing, a number of college students take
out student loans that they are unable to repay because they have
difficulty getting a job.  For another, a person who leaves college to
attend a training center or other rehabilitation program may want to defer
their loan payments until they are done with their training.



There are a number of different options that you may want to consider if
you find yourself at the point where you are unable to make your loan
payments (or your parents are stuck making them on your behalf).  Please
explore them.
