Employee Spotlight
With July as her final month with The Lighthouse for the Blind, Inc., we bid farewell to Lighthouse President and CEO, Cindy Watson. Under Cindy's leadership the Lighthouse celebrated many milestones. We celebrated the incredible manufacturing milestone of producing our 1 millionth wallboard, we opened our newest AbilityOne Base Supply Center on the Seattle Coast Guard Base, we opened a Low Vision Clinic in order to serve our greater community, and were awarded a large contract with the General Services Administration (GSA), all while navigating a global pandemic.

We thank Cindy for all that she has done for the Lighthouse and wish her the best!

6 Lighthouse Employees Graduate from AJAC Apprenticeship Programs
Business Lines Spotlight
Congratulations are in order for six Lighthouse employees who graduated from Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee (AJAC) manufacturing training programs in June. Andriy Matsyuk, Philip Blackmer, Lucas Holster, John Koigi, and Jon Ott completed the 1.5 year, 3,000 hour Industrial Manufacturing Technician course and Jesse Trim graduated from the journey level Industrial Maintenance program, a 4 year program totaling over 8,000 hours.

Milestone Spotlight
Happy Anniversary to the Lighthouse's first AbilityOne Base Supply Center!
In July of 1999, the Lighthouse opened our first AbilityOne Base Supply Center in Fallon, Nevada at the Naval Air Station Fallon.

Since then, we've come a long way, and the Lighthouse now operates AbilityOne Base Supply Centers (BSCs) up and down the West Coast U.S., which offer one-stop shopping to military personnel and federal employees.
