this month's presidential release, President Riccobono calls on the National Federation of the Blind to find creative ways to support our Black community members. The San Francisco Chapter would like to invite you to join us to be a part of an important discussion on race and intersectionality.

On Tuesday, June 30th at 6 PM, members of the NFB San Francisco chapter will be meeting to talk about #blacklivesmatter and Supporting our Black blind members. We will also discuss the possibility of having a monthly discussion Group about blindness and all of our intersecting identities.

Chapter member Laura Millar will be facilitating this conversation on intersectionality. We will be focusing our discussion primarily on #blacklivesmatter and what we want this discussion group to look like from 6-8. We will follow the #blacklivesmattet discussion with a toast to our LGBTQ+ Blind community members as we celebrate Pride and our LGBTQ+ Blind members on our social call from 8 until the last person leaves the call!

Come dressed in your #blacklivesmatter protest gear. Come dressed in your rainbow pride finest outfit. Or, maybe combine them all, since intersectionality is a theme of this event!

We highly recommend reading the book "White Fragility" by Robin DiAngelo before joining this conversation. It isn't mandatory, but it will provide a common language and a framework for these discussions. We will discuss as a chapter how we want these monthly conversations to look moving forward. So don’t miss out - we are looking forward to seeing you there. In solidarity,
