New coronavirus<http://pe.com/tag/coronavirus> vaccination clinics are opening Thursday, Jan. 14, in Riverside County that will vaccinate new groups of people for the first time, including those over 65, grocery workers and teachers.

The walk-up clinics are open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, except for Martin Luther King Jr. Day, according to a county news release.

In addition, a one-day drive-up vaccination clinic is set for Saturday, Jan. 16, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m., only for those 65 and older. It will be at Diamond Stadium in Lake Elsinore.

The clinics will provide vaccines free of charge. However, people must register before arriving and show proof of eligibility, such as a badge, business identification or a letter of proof from employer. Seniors must show identification. Medical insurance information will be requested.

These vaccinations are for people who live or work in Riverside County, officials said.

Those 65 and older who need assistance making an appointment can call the Riverside County Office of Aging, 800-510-2020 or 2-1-1.

Other than Diamond Stadium, all of the clinics are open for the first time to people in Phase 1A or 1B of the state’s vaccination plan<https://www.pe.com/2021/01/12/riverside-county-elderly-teachers-could-get-coronavirus-vaccines-next-week/>, which is detailed at https://www.ruhealth.org/covid-19-vaccine. That is also the site to register.

Newly eligible groups include essential workers in education, law enforcement, grocery stores, farms and emergency services.

In a change Gov. Gavin Newsom announced<https://www.pe.com/2021/01/13/california-says-seniors-65-and-over-will-get-priority-on-coronavirus-vaccine/>Wednesday, Jan. 13, people 65 and older can also start receiving the vaccine immediately.

The following locations will have walk-up vaccinations, meaning people will have to leave their car and walk into a building to be vaccinated:

  *   Corona High School, 1150 W. 10th St., Corona
  * Heritage High School, 26001 Briggs Road, Menifee
  * San Gorgonio Middle School, 1591 Cherry Ave., Beaumont

A walk-up vaccine clinic is set for Sunday, Jan. 17, from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. at the Indio Fairgrounds, Fullenwider Auditorium, 46350 Arabia St., Indio.

A drive-up vaccine clinic is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 16, from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m. at Diamond Stadium, 500 Diamond Drive, Lake Elsinore. This clinic is only for those 65 years of age and older.
