monthly meeting.

Riverside San Bernardino Minutes for February 12, 2022



Recited the pledge led by Silvia.

Rollcall: Carmen, Silvia, Kelly, Tippy, Paulina, Barbra, and Francina.



Secretary Report: Motion to approve the minutes as read. Moved by Tippy,
second by Paulina. All agreed.



Treasury Report: Total: 1,781.27



Old Business:

National convention in-person in New Orleans.

Dates: July 5-10 2022New Orleans Marriot main location for meetings.
Shariton overflow across the street for main activities. For more
information ask Carmen.

Banquet $75 at least $109 per night.



Scholarship:

Kenneth Jernigan 30 participants will receive $8,000 towards school for
college or university students. They pay for convention for participants to
participate.

Deadline: March 31, 2022



Constitution:

Constitution was approved. Will be distributed after approved by national.



Washington Seminar:

February 7-10, 2022

Tippy discussed Washington seminar. Discrepancies with contacting officials.

Still ongoing with reaching various officials. Tippy will be contacting
them all Monday. Several others attend the seminar described similar
issues. Issues Access technology, medical devices, accessibility of apps,
and fair labor practice. To end the less than minimum wage against people
with disabilities. Further discussion took regarding minimum wage practices
both at federal and state levels.



New Business:

Code of conduct. Several mentioned reviewing the code of conduct.



Presidential Release:

Tippy discussed covid at home tests in addition to be used with Aira for
assistance with administering at home test given by the federal government.
Also, discussed national convention, and the Pac plan. Best year.



Pac:

Pac plan preauthorized contribution for national is an automatic
contribution towards national level per month. Can be applied individually
and as a chapter. Discussion took place regarding applying for a Pac plan
as a Chapter. Motion to donate $5 to the Pac plan. Moved by Tippy second by
Barba. All agreed.



Jazzy Social Book Club:

: New The Book: Book woman of troublesome Creak by Kim Richardson. DB: 95243

8 hours read.

Barbra will distribute the information to the list this week. Date will be
set and mentioned to the list.



Fundraisers:

Two options for fundraiser. Popcornopolis at 50/50 and See’s candy at
60/40. Can be fundraise for as long as you want.

Discussion will take place during our next meeting to gather more
information.



Bell Academy:

This program provides braille, mobility, and other skills for children.
More information will be provided regarding dates. Volunteers needed. For

KNFB Reader:

KNFB reader is an app for OCR. Changing their name to b one step reader.
Free to download.



Newsline:

NFB Newsline is a subscription service for people who are blind or visually
impaired to read the news for various print sources. More information will
be sent to the email list for the Chapter.



Janet Goski and resume in-person:

Janet Goski is open however they only want four people in one room. Hoping
to be at full compacity by March. Discussion took place regarding in-person
meeting. At this point, the meeting will take place in-person. If anything
changes check the email list for more details. Carmen plans to visit Janet
Goski to see If a hybrid option is possible.



Calling Members: Carmen will distribute the membership roster to officers
to call members to touch basis with current members and invite to our next
meeting. This is to gain new members for the Chapter by contacting both old
and new people. Will be checking in in two weeks after calls. Before our
next meeting. February 25th at 6 PM.
