I am pasting the minutes from our recent October chapter meeting. Please let
me know if there are any corrections, or changes, or if the minutes look
good to you. A reminder that we will be having elections at our November
chapter meeting and Kirk Wagner will not be running for President of the
chapter.
NFB of Oregon Rose City Chapter
Minutes October 18, 2025
Kirk Wagner called the chapter meeting to order at 10:30 AM with The
following members attending the chapter meeting were: Kirk Wagner, Tracy and
Desmond Boyd, Jerry Hathaway, joy Relton, Myra Gonzales, Ryan McBee, Jan
Hatcher, Jeff Anderson, Mary Ann Mendez, Alice Campbell, Carolyn Brock, Rod
Barker, and Osman. The two guests who came to the chapter meeting were: Anne
Marie Murphy and Dimitri Murphey. Mary Ann Mendez read the NFB Pledge and
Belief Statement. Kirk asked members for the Introductions Ice breaker: What
local volunteer opportunity would you like to be involved with if you knew
how? Joy Relton made a motion to approve the minutes from our September
chapter meeting that was distributed on the chapter list serve with Tracy
Boyd seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending
the chapter meeting. Jan Hatcher said that she is donating $500.00 to the
chapter. Joy Relton gave the Treasurer's report with the beginning balance
of $2,717.20 and the ending balance is $3,245.20. Tracy Boyd made a motion
to approve the Treasurer's report with Rod Barker seconding the motion and
the motion was passed by the members attending the chapter meeting. Kirk
gave an explanation about the PAC plan and suggested in the chapter raising
the amount of the PAC plan and there was a discussion from members about the
PAC plan. Mary Ann Mendez made a motion that the chapter raise the amount of
the PAC plan from $12.00 to $20.00 with Tracy Boyd seconding the motion and
the motion was passed by the members attending the chapter meeting. Kirk
said that he will announce the change to the PAC plan at our upcoming state
convention. Members who read Walking Alone Marching Together Chapter 10
Sheltered Workshops and Blind Alleys gave their comments about the chapter.
While Kirk played the Presidential release for October members put together
the goody bags for state convention. There was a discussion about selling
leftover keychains after the goody bags were filled at state and national
conventions for $10. Tracy said since they cost the chapter $3 to make this
could be a good fundraiser for the chapter. Joy Relton won the 50-50 drawing
and she donated it back to the chapter. Kirk adjourned the chapter meeting.
