I am pasting the minutes from our September chaptermeeting. Please take a

NFB of Oregon Rose City Chapter

Minutes September 20, 2025

 

                Kirk Wagner called the chapter meeting to order at 10:30 AM.
Chapter members attending the meeting were: Kirk Wagner, Tracy and Desmond
Boyd, Jerry Hathaway, Joy Relton, Carolyn Brock, Jack and Mary Ann Mendez,
Rod Barker, Ryan McBee, Cody Hermeling, Jim Portillo, Osman, Angel Ray, Jan
Hatcher, and Mayra Gonzalez. We had one guest who is Andrew Kobus. Osman and
Andrew Kobus are two of the four scholarship finalists at this year's state
convention. There was a discussion about using Zoom to use instead of the
conference call for members who can not attend the chapter meeting in person
and Kirk said that he will check if this will be possible to use instead of
the conference call and let us know at our next chapter meeting. Tracy Boyd
read the NFB Pledge and the NFB Belief Statement. We then had Introductions
Ice breaker: What is your favorite item to shop for? Tracy Boyd made a
motion to have the chapter meeting minutes from our August chapter meeting
be approved as distributed with Desmond Boyd seconding the motion and the
motion was passed by the members attending the chapter meeting. Joy Relton
gave the Treasurer's report with a beginning balance of $2,326.20 and the
ending balance is $2,717.20. The total raised from the fund raiser was
$393.00 This included $465.00 for fund raiser less $112.00 cost related to
fund raiser and $40.00 donations.     Ryan McBee made a motion to have the
Treasurer's report be approved as read with Carolyn Brock seconding the
motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the chapter
meeting. Members of the fund raising committee and chapter members gave
comments about the Rose City Chapter fundraiser Trivia Night. Mayra Gonzalez
gave us information about the Baybridge run that will be in Baltimore,
Maryland during the weekend of November 9, 2025. Mayra also as soon as she
register for the run she will send information to Kirk so he can send it out
on our chapter list serve. There was a discussion about state convention
that will be October 24-26 in Beaverton, Oregon. Kirk Wagner led a
discussion about financial assistance for chapter members who will need
financial assistance to be able to attend our state convention. Kirk Wagner
explained that we will be having elections for the officers for the Rose
City chapter at our November chapter meeting and that he will not be running
for chapter president. We had a discussion about chapter 9 for the book
Walking Alone and Marching Together. Kirk Wagner won the 50/50 drawing and
he donated it back to the chapter. Kirk Wagner adjourned the chapter
meeting.
