Kirk Wagner called the chapter meeting to order at 10:30 AM. Chapter members attending the meeting were: Kirk Wagner, Tracy and Desmond Boyd, Jerry Hathaway, Joy Relton, Jack and Mary Ann Mendez, Jeff Anderson, Rod Barker, Karen Croston, Ryan McBee, Cody Hermeling, Alice Campbell, Angel Ray, Jan Hatcher, and rick Hammond. Kirk Wagner gave a explanation dealing with the Rose City chapter listserv that it is up and should be working with the members on the list. He said that the listserve e-mail is rose_city_chapter at nfbnet.org. Jack Mendez read the NFB Pledge and the NFB Belief Statement. Tracy Boyd volunteer to read the NFB Pledge and the Belief Statement at our September chapter meeting. The introductions ice breaker for our chapter meeting is If you had an unlimited supply of one thing, what would it be? Tracy Boyd made a motion to have the minutes from our July chapter meeting be approve as distributed with Rod Barker seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the meeting. Joy Relton gave the Treasurer’s report with a beginning balance of $2, 313.20 and the ending balance is $2, 326.20. Angel Ray made a motion to have the Treasurer’s report be approve as read with Tracy Boyd seconding the motion and the motion was passed by the members attending the chapter meeting. Tracy Boyd and the fund raising committee gave a report and then there was a discussion on the upcoming fund raising activity of Rose City Chapter fundraiser Trivia Night, Sunday August 24, 2025 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm $20 a person At Yur’s Bar and Grill located at 717 NW 16 Street in Portland. Kirk told us that October is NFB Blind Equality Achievement Month and Tracy Boyd suggested that we could do a walk in the neighborhood during State Convention. Kirk ask members to bring ideas to our September chapter meeting. Kirk Wagner brought up the subject for the chapter members collaborating on an article for The Braille Monitor. There was a discussion about writing, contacting some of the old members to get their ideas and other ideas for the article about the Rose City chapter to send to the Braille Monitor. Kirk played the Presidential release for August. There was a discussion on products that we can use at state convention and chapter members helping out at state convention. Kirk reminded members that state convention will be in October 24-26. Kirk also told members that the chapter will be giving financial assistance to members that will need help to go to state convention and letters for financial assistance need to be e-mail to Kirk by our September chapter meeting. Kirk adjourn the chapter meeting.
