Many of the shortcuts are the same in all the main Web browsers, but there are some that are specific to Firefox, so we will explain this as we go along.<br>At time of posting, we are using Firefox version 147.0.1, running on Windows 11.</span><span style='font-family:"Lato",sans-serif;color:#202020'> <o:p></o:p></span></p><div class=MsoNormal align=center style='text-align:center;line-height:150%'><span style='font-family:"Lato",sans-serif;color:#202020'><hr size=2 width="100%" align=center></span></div><h1><strong><span style='font-size:10.5pt;line-height:125%;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>This Week's Shortcut:</span></strong><o:p></o:p></h1><div><p class=MsoNormal style='line-height:150%'><span style='font-size:10.5pt;line-height:150%;font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif;color:#202020'>Translating a webpage into your home language is relatively easy within a Web browser. All browsers will automatically detect the language and give the option to translate into your home language, based on the regional settings on your PC. Firefox will also give the option to easily adjust the languages, if required.<br>The translation feature in Firefox is in a beta stage at the time of sending this email. As far as we can tell, it seems to work very well.<br>To translate a webpage in Firefox, go to the address bar by pressing <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Alt + D</span></strong>. Then <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Tab </span></strong>once and <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Arrow Right</span></strong> to the Translate tool. Press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Enter</span></strong> and then use <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Tab </span></strong>and <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Arrow keys </span></strong>to set the languages. <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Tab</span></strong> again to get to the Translate button and press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Enter</span></strong>. Finally, press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>F6</span></strong> to focus back onto the webpage.<br><br>These shortcuts work slightly differently in Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome.<br>In Edge, when you navigate to a webpage in a different language, a notification comes up offering to translate. Press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>F6</span></strong> to move to this notification and press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Enter </span></strong>on the Translate button, or <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Tab </span></strong>around and use <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Arrow keys</span></strong> to change the language first.<br>Chrome, which of course is home of Google Translate, has a couple of options. Similar to Firefox, go to address bar and press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Tab </span></strong>to get to the Translate tool (you may need to <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Escape </span></strong>out of AI options to get there). Press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Enter </span></strong>on the Translate tool and then use left and right <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Arrow keys </span></strong>to switch between the automatically detected language and your home language. The webpage will move between the two languages as you <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Arrow</span></strong> left and right. But you need to press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Shift + F6 </span></strong>to focus back onto the webpage.<br>Or, in Chrome, you can navigate to some text on a webpage and press <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>Shift + F10</span></strong>, then <strong><span style='font-family:"Verdana",sans-serif'>T</span></strong> to translate the page to your home language.
