[Small-Appliance-Cooking] Question about what is safe to be put in microwaves:

I did it on the stove top using what was called a bacon crisper. It is a
metal disk with holes in it, and it has a knob in the middle like a pot
cover does. You put the bacon in the frying pan and put the bacon crisper
over the top of the frying pan. You don't have to turn the bacon over, this
way, and it comes out crisp on both sides. Unfortunately, I don't know
where to get them anymore. I lost mine and I need a replacement, since I
use it to cover stuff when I fry it so it doesn't splatter grease all over
the stove and the walls. Independent Living aids has something else I
bought that I can't use. It's a screen with a round rim on the edges and a
handle like a pan handle. It is too big, and the handle gets in the way of
the pan handle, so that it won't stay flat on the top of the frying pan.
So, I am still looking for the disk with the holes in it that used to be
called a bacon crisper. Pam.

How do you do it on the stove top.
I have tried it and found it hard to keep straight turning it over.
Also in the wave we need to get a smaller bacon wave holder.
The larger one doesn't fit.
