OU MAY HAVE A POINT, BUT I KNOW THAT MY landlord tried all of the buttons, & they don’t work wit the exception of the start button.

Either something is defective, or you are overtaxing your wiring.  To only run an minute, and go off isn't normal.  It is trying to tell you something, and you aren't listening.

  It sounds like you have to get rid of that microwave.  It doesnâ€™t even sound like the microwave works correctly.  Pam.

  Thanks. The problem is that the microwave Iâ€™m using only works when I turn off the serge protecter that it is connected to. Then I turn the serge protecter back on. At that time, the microwave works for 1 minute where then I have to perform the same steps again. Iâ€™m not sure if this is even safe to do.
