Hi Sandra,
There are 3 buttons on the top of the machine. The small round buttton is the power on/off button. The small retangle button is the dark/heavy brew. The large round button is the brew button which heats the water, runs the water threw the pod, & then drops water into cup. You should hear noise when you hit the big round buttton.
This is what I do when I make a cup of coffee, hot cocoa, or hot apple cider.
I plug in the cord into the outlet. I take the water rseervoir out of machine, fill cup with water, then dump water into the water rseervoir , then with cover close I place rseervoir back into machine. I hit the power button. I lift the water rseervoir cover up & down. I lift up front top using the bar & place pod in spot & closed down all the way so you hear it clicks. I then place cupup under the big circle where water will come out so cup is lined up correctly& then just pull down straight onto drip plate. I now push the bigh round buttone. You should have successs with a cup filled so you can carry without spilling.

Hi, Deb,

Could you send your message as corrected—I had some trouble following you. Sorry. Thanks—it seemed you had some very important instruction, and I don’t want to miss any of it!
