Hi Keith:

I have a food scale that I purchased from Amazon, but it is also available on MaxiAids. It is a talking scale, but is not made to pair with a smart phone. It is battery operated and has a very loud voice with no volume control.

As for a postal scale, you might have to check into stamps.com. They have a whole postal kit you can buy or rent, but I'm not sure if it is compatible or pairable to a smart device. Hope this helps, and good luck!
