[Social-sciences-list] Mendeley desktop

AS far as I know, none of the reference managers are truly accessible. I use Endnote with limited success and have tried all the others. All the blind screen reader users I know basically do references by hand. I just don’t have the time to totally investigate the matter, because I may be able to write scripts that would make one more accessible. I have added some labeling to parts of endnote, but I still have a sighted person on campus help me with parts of my reference list. I’m working on my reading list for my qualifiers in the spring and want to be able to easily make references when I answer the questions. That is done so much easier with reference managers. When the right database is used, I literally can insert my references in my papers with two keystrokes and also watch it create the Bibliography on the fly.

Along similar lines, I'd also be interested in learning about how people are managing their references for dissertations and other papers. I'm currently pasting all my references into pages and pages of a Word document, but I imagine there's a better way. Thanks very much.

Hi all,

I have installed the free version of Mendeley on my computer, but I found it not accessible.

I can see it only as preview on the internet, I can see my groups, paper but for example I cannot download the pdf version of shared articles.

Do you know if there is any accessible version of Mendeley? Does exist any script to make it accessible?

I thank you very much

Sincerely,

Veronica
