When swimming, my freestyle strokes are fast enough that I do not ever have 
time enough to worry about hitting the wall. I think even under the idea of 
keeping the strokes chirning, even if not a fast swimmer, proper technique 
sighted or blind there should be a stroke rhythm where wall hitting 
shouldn't be an issue. Butterfly however, lack of concentration in truth, 
one time got me to take the stroke back and propell my head full speed into 
the wall giving a concussion on a cruise in the bahamas. The stroke/ kick 
were awesome though. Perfect form. The blood really gushes out of the top of 
the head. And, did you know that pools on cruiseships are filled with salt 
water. You would think this would be information I was smart enough to 
posess. I guess not.

Hello,
When I'm swimming I normally only use a tapper when I'm racing. During
practice I have found it is easier to locate the wall independently by
constantly having one hand out in front. I've gotten pretty good at
it, and don't sacrafice speed or efficiency for safety.
I normally place my cane under the char I will put my towel on, so
that no one feels the need to move it. I try and find a chair near the
pool, and just keep a mental idea of where that chair is in relation
to the lane I will swim in.
I haven't used the Adaptap, but I would like to eventually...
