Wow, Dude, you live in a pretty cool place. Might be frustrating at times,
especially transportation-wise, but I bet it's beautiful. Definitely not a
city, I'd say, with the closest bike shop being 12 miles away. Can I come
visit and stay for, oh say, a month? The probable lack of traffic and
actual sounds of nature would be such a nice change. (smile)

That brings up another point of interest about tandeming. I recently
started reading up on tandem mountainbiking. It sounds insane. I mean,
jeezowmama, how challenging has that got to be? If it's like regular
mountainbiking, going over logs, over rocks and up and down bumps and hills
and all that, how much harder must it be to do that on a tandem? Anyone
doing this, here? I have yet to learn more about it but it sounds nuts. I
just keep picturing a tandem snapping in half with all that abuse, y'know?
If anyone has knowledge or experience on tandem mountainbiking, please
share. Inspire us, Baby! I can't wait to learn more, and maybe, hopefully,
one day give it a go!

Anyway, Monty, below are the 20 closest bike shop listings to Hammond, WI.
And I'm assuming Eau Claire is real close to Hammond, because a search gave
me the exact same 20 closest listings, with the first one still being 12.5
miles away. If they're not, though, and I did something wrong or
misunderstood something, let me know and I'll go again. Or maybe I'll put
through my article on searching yahoo's Yellow Pages so any of you can
easily do it yourself. It's pretty simple, and great for finding local
resources.

Just start calling around and gather all your local leads, Monty. The bike
shop people usually know what's what in a town, regarding tandems for sale,
tandem groups, and whatever else. It's their industry and life, after all.
