Hi Joe, and all,

That 'locked in a room' thing sounds like a good idea for a lot of people.
Like I said previously when talking about the boxing and wrestling program
we offer on Thursday nights now at our church (www.TheMovementChurch.info),
many of the neighborhood kids were at first talking a lot of stuff on the
Wednesday nights. But once we added the Thursday night boxing and
wrestling, with gloves, mats, and a referee and all, well, it's amazing how
many kids talk a lot less smack, since actually feeling what it's like to
throw punches and get hit by them as well. (smile)

I'll tell you, we get 30-50 kids on Wednesday nights. the first month we
got almost as many on Thursdays. Now we get a solid and usually same 5-15
kids coming back again and again on Thursday nights. And most of those are
not the ones who talked a lot of stuff, of course. (smile)

As for fighting, boxing, or wrestling while at convention, well Huckleberry,
thanks but I might just pass. Unless it's simply sharing some actual tips
with me. As for doing a last man standing sort of thing, forget about it.
I'm looking to learn, not crash and burn. (smile)

Strive On,
Everett

Hi Everett,
I have always loved boxing and do MMA as well. I grew up a huge Mike Tyson
fan in the 80s as my Dad and I got the pay-perview fights.
The training I find that I am most interested in is explosion work like
heavy bursts in spin, heavy weights with quick moves for lifting at times, I
like to work the bags, pool sprints, and lunge work.
I like MMA because of the marriage of wrestling and boxing. I like the
ground and pound style as it is I believe realistically how a blind person
would succeed in a fight. I like kick boxing as I enjoy the precision of the
placement of punches and kicks to achieve victory.
I do not fight much as I don't like getting hit in the face. I am waay too
pretty for that. (smile) One of my favorite childhood memories was when I
was twelve. My cousin brought over a couple pairs of boxing gloves, my
mother locked us in the spare room for like two hours, and we beat the hell
out of each other. I almost got knocked out. I felt myself losing some
thinkability. Keith's nose was busted allover his face, there was blood
everywhere. I had a black eye the next day. Both our chests and arms were
bruised. It was great!
If you wanna go in Detroit... I'm your huckleberry!
You know, an awesome idea for Dallas might be a Sports and Rec Smoker. I'll
fight anybody named Joe you guys want. (giggle)
Good times!
"Momma said knock you out" "I'm gonna knock you out" Momma Said Knock You
Out L.L. Cool J
