COLORADO SPRINGS IS SITE FOR 2009 USABA GOALBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

After a long and exhaustive search, Colorado Springs, Colorado, will serve as the site for the 2009 USABA Goalball National Championships, to be held June 11-13, 2009.  

“This year, the economy really challenged our ability to line up all the logistical pieces necessary for a successful tournament,” stated goalball coordinator, John Potts.  “Many of the venues that had been available in past years weren’t able to support tournaments this year due to budgetary changes that affected their ability to provide facilities for activities like our tournament.   Understandably, this has placed an additional burden on athlete and team planning this year.  We hope things turn around and this is not a situation we’ll have to encounter in future years.”

Additional tournament information will be provided in the next few days and will be placed on the USABA website, www.usaba.org, and distributed to USABA members via email.
