USABA ATHLETES SELECT NEW REPRESENTATIVE
 
Jennifer Armbruster (Birmingham, AL) was selected as United States
Association of Blind Athlete's athlete representative for a term beginning
immediately and running through December 31, 2012.
 
The athlete representative, nominated and elected by USABA athlete members
in good standing, will represent athletes in sport management related
matters.  The athlete representative will ensure effective communication
between athletes, coaches and team staff members, the USABA Board of
Directors and the USABA National Office.
 
Five candidates were nominated by USABA athlete members for election
consideration: 
 

*	Jen Armbruster (goalball) 

*	Karen Broderick (bowling) 

*	Kurt Fiene (athletics) 

*	Donte' Mickens (goalball) 

*	Thomas Monroe (powerlifting) 

 
Additionally, Kurt Fiene (Elmhurst, IL) will serve as alternate athlete
representative.
 
The alternate athletic representative will serve with the athlete
representative in any matters that require both a male and female athlete
input.  The alternate athlete representative may also be called to serve in
any situations where direct involvement of the athlete representative could
create the potential for a conflict of interest.
