<span style="font-weight: bold;">Team Canada
successfully defended its 2006 Paralymic wheelchair curling gold medal
Saturday, defeating Korea 8-7 in the final played before a capacity crowd
of 5,500 at the Hillcrest facility.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: bold;">Canadians have
now won 18 medals ? a record nine gold, five silver and four bronze ?
surpassing the 15-medal total reached at Nagano in 1998 and Salt Lake City
in 2002, when many more medals were awarded. Canadians won 13 medals at the
Turin Games four years ago, including gold by Chris Daw in
curling.</span><font class="style1"><strong><br />
