(Colorado Springs, Colo.) - Twenty-three-year-old Katie Davis (Sacramento,
Calif. / Team Sacramento) became just the third U.S. woman ever to win a
medal at the International Blind Sports Association World Championships on
Sunday in Antalya, Turkey.  

 

Competing in her first World Championships, Davis won a silver medal in the
non-Paralympic 78kg division on the final day of the World Championships.  

 

"It's just awesome," Davis said.  "I have been training hard, but I never
expected to win a medal at my first World Championships..." more
