Hey blind brothers and sisters!
Cycling has been great in and around San Diego County. Daily
hi-temps along the coast barely get into the 70's. Come on out and ride!
Remember, the BSC can help with transportation, hooking you up with a
local captain and tandem.
Simply ask, and find out.
See ya out there!

This email contains announcements of interest to members and friends
of the Blind Stokers Club (BSC). Stay in touch on the

facebook page, for more connectivity and information.

Starting August with a big exhale after the 8th annual Cycling for
Sight. CFS photographer <mailto:evanras at sbcglobal.net>Evan Rasmussen
created a memory-filled 5-part
<http://cyclingnut.smugmug.com/Blind-Stokers-Club/2012-Cycling-for-Sight/24146207_7K5jXd#!i>slideshow,
which is posted at the top of the BSC photo site. Thanks to everyone
who made this uncommon experience possible, and to all who shared in
it. Special thanks to the Knights for their gift of friendship and
trust, and to Stephen Stewart for their discovery.

Next BSC ride is Bike the Bay, sunday august
26. <mailto:jamis.joenadeau at gmail.com>Joe Nadeau is BSC activity
coordinator for this event. BSC tandem teams will be sposored
(reimbursed) by the club. Details are on the BSC Ride Calendar, and
posted on the BSC Members page. All must register on the
<http://www.bikethebay.net/registration.html>BTB registration
website; use the SDCBC member category. BTB is a great way for the
BSC to support the SD County Bicycle Coalition, and to show club
colors among local cyclists.

Knight Jack Lai and his "Taiwan Homerun" team, won the 2012 Beep
Baseball World Series in Ames Iowa this week. Taiwan Homerun
bettered 16 US based teams, to take the NBBA World Series trophy back
to Taipei. Congratulations Jack and teammates!

If you have not seen it, you can watch the

video produced by Raegan Matthews, and starring the BSC players.

Reminder - Knights leader David "Ah Gan" Chang has invited up to 4
BSC stokers to Taiwan in November, for the second annual Knights bike
tour around Taiwan. I have a DVD of "A concerto of Knights in the
Darkness", 65 min documentary of the Knights' 11-day tour around the
island in Nov 2011, with up-close-and-personal features. If you want
to view it, let me know. Oh, the places you can go . . .

2 tandem racks for sale in the club; one a Draftmaster hitch rack and
the other a Yakima Sidewinder roof rack. Both can rack either single
or tandem bike. Contact <mailto:serviceomatic at gmail.com>ANdy Granda
if interested.

SD Center for the Blind Annual White Cane Luncheon is Friday October
19, 2012. If you would like to buy one or more seats ($50 donation
per seat) at a BSC table, please contact <mailto:sonicvaio at cox.net>Kermit Cain.
