[Sportsandrec] Statistics on Fitness in Blind Community

Okay, I have set back since last week and something that was said on here
that rubbed me the wrong way. But, I can no longer sit back and see these
email with what appears is the lack of seeing the BIG picture here. No
matter your lifestyle, no matter your age, or financial ability or lack
there of, the fact is that not only blind people but everyone in general has
things going on in life, an time is valuable to ALL of us even to those that
find time for 2-3 hours a day or week to exercise. Even if you are a huge
fitness person or not so much, and even if it is your profession or your
desire to see people more healthy. What we are failing to see is that people
are inactive, WHETHER, by choice or by other reasons. everyone should strive
for some type of exercise AND social engagement everyday. No like some of
you are saying I am not making "excuses" I am just being realistic. We
should be happy that someone number 1 is interested in bettering their life,
and 2 that they are making an effort to try and set aside anytime for
health. We should not judge, but encourage. We should not hold the actions
of so many against those that are trying. That is our jobs as a human being
no matter our professional or personal beleifs. I would encourage each of us
on the list and who obviously want to be a part of the movement to help
blind people become more active and healthier, to look at how we are
presenting our case and look at what we are doing for the greater good.

Let us keep in mind for one person that is making an effort there is three
others who are not. Who needs the hlp most?
