[Sportsandrec] clueless coaches

i don't disagree there's a need for education i just don't believe
even a small child can't be a source of education for the adults as
much as the other way around.
Children have always had a serious underestimation attached to them as
to what we can learn from them as grown-ups.
I mean "advocate",really? this is the kind of protective jargon that
perpetuates labels and attitudes better left alone.
I do however, agree that parents should play a larger part, but again,
this fact is not unique to blind children. My parents deserve a lot of
credit for how i developed, but it is because they encouraged me to
stand up for myself, speak for myself, and defy other people's limited
imaginations.
sorry, but i'd rather be a trail blazer than the follower. I realize
this doesn't work for many people, but i feel as much as we have a
responsibility to guide others of all ages and abilities, we have an
equal responsibility to foster an attitude to be guides of their own
comportment.
just my opinion.
