Subject: [Sportsandrec] It happened to Baltimore

For those who have read the Baltimore Sun last week, a number of powems
about the Ravens appeared in that newspaper. I decided to have a bit of fun
and write one of my own. I hope that you all will enjoy it!

It happened to Baltimore

On a Sunday in February, was a large football game. The game was so large
that the people of the land made big plans just to eat dinner and watch it.
All day long before the game, bets were made on who would win. Chants were
heard and team colors were all around. For everyone knew that the Ravens and
49ers had come to play. Feasts were cooked, bets were made and arguments
broke out. The people of the land who supported their favorite team just had
to shout. Laughs were heard as funny commercials were played. And then, came
on the big game. The people watched as the Ravens took flight. Over the
49ers, they were so far, winning the big fight. The Ravens flew high scoring
points left and right. The people of the land knew that the Ravens and the
49ers had to play before they could celebrate that night. When half time
came, a show took place. Fortunently, it was not an emberising sight. Once
the half time show was over and the game got started, the Ravens got a touch
down and left the 49ers down hearted. As the Ravens made a sack, the power
went out and everyone on both sides had been taken aback. The people of the
land watched and waited while the Ravens and 49ers took a break. For the
power had to come back on in order to continue the fun. A half an hour
later, the power came back, the game resumed before the Ravens started to
waver. The 49ers started to charge. Like a rampaging bull, they scored and
scored, and scored again but the Ravens still held on. The Ravens clearly
wanted to win. The Ravens did not give up the fight. The people of the land
knew that victory was in sight. No matter how many flags were thrown, how
many points were scored or how many miracles took place, the Ravens still
defended their space. When the clock ran out, all of the Ravens fans began
to shout. For the Ravens had finally won the big game. For twelve years, the
Ravens fought just to get here. The Ravens fans all shouted and cheered. As
the troffy was passed around on the field, high fives were heard as 49er
fans were forced to yield. Ravens fans celebrated that night because the
Baltimore Ravens won the fight. On and on the celebrations lasted as the
people of the land either partied or rested. The party for the Ravens lasted
until the end of the victory praid. The whole way through, the Ravens fans
all gave their praize. The world knew that the Ravens have come to save the
day. Now the Ravens are Super Bull champyons. Next year, the world will know
that they are here to stay. For the Ravens started out as under dogs. For
they surprized everyone along the way. Now the Ravens are flying very high.
Now days, they are higher than wild bald eagles. Go Ravens!!!
