If you really want to learn about working with atheletes start reading some
of Dan John's stuff...or just check out the interviews I have done with him
on my website.
Dan is probably the best strength coach in the world and his approach to
everything is simple and direct and logical. If you are interested in
working with BJJ people you should look into kettlebell training. It seems
very popular with BJJ fighters.
Truthfully you will learn far more about working with atheletes simply by
working with atheletes than by spending a fortune on more certs.
When you have some time check these out;

Hey Bill, thanks so much. I'm currently working toward my ISSA certs.
in Personal Training, Nutrition Specialist and one geared toward Elderly
Fitness, which, I don't plan on focusing on the elderly, but it deals with
issues like heart problems, high blood pressure, etc. a lot of what we see
with sedentary lifestyles, so I figured the knowledge I would gain from that
could be applied anywhere, really.
After I finish those I'll probably start working on my NASM, just because
they are more focused on training athletes, and I'd really like to work with
some of the BJJ people I know. I don't train to compete, just do it for
myself since it's a great tool in managing my Diabetes and I'm working with
a gentleman by the name of Andrew Berry out of Burlington, Vt. Thanks so
much for your offer to help, I might take you up on it sometime.
