The fit bit and other similar bands connect to your phone/IPod via
Bluetooth.

Thanks. Do you know if it works with that device without  internet
connectivity? Just wondering as not all places have wifi.
I do not have such a device yet, but is very  likely I'll have an ipod soon.

A FitBit is a wearable activity tracker that connects to your iOS via
Bluetooth.

It tracks calories, you can enter your food intake on the app, it monitors
sleep, and the fancier ones track heart rate although I have some question
about the accuracy of that particular feature just because of consistent
placement.
