[Sportsandrec] So, I have to ask

Never used it myself, but my understanding is that the point of the yoga
matt for the blind is so we can "understand" our orientation on the matt
itself. The way it's been described to me is that blind people aren't
capable of knowing their direction on the matt or where the corners are or
way the matt is in general, so it helps with all that. I've been told it's a
completely useless purchase not worth the money.

Subject: [Sportsandrec] So, I have to ask

Has anyone tried to yoga mat for the visually impaired? I'm not usually a
big fan of things for "the visually impaired. ". For all I know this is like
the blind fork or the blind toilet. I'm sure nobody who is blind really
needs those things. I've looked at the yoga mat wondering if it is
something that would help me with the more subtle movements in the spacing
that I sometimes mess up when doing yoga poses. The fact that this mat cost
$89 is another reason why I would not just buy it for the sake of buying it.
I've decided to make yoga a serious practice, so I really want to make good
use of all the tools that would help me to do this. (I'm still going
through all the Blind Alive info.) Thoughts?
