[Sportsandrec] What about Salsa dancing?

Hay Ron,
You actually might have an advantage by not seeing. Dance is about feeling the music and feeling your body and your partners body so you might be surprised. You might not find a cheaper instructor. People tend to put a high value on their skills these days.
What you might consider is a lesson or two with that person plus maybe looking on Netflix for some instructional videos that you and your girlfriend can use to practice at home. After a bit of time you can look into group classes which will likely be cheaper...but that’s probably after a few weeks of getting the basics under your feet(so to speak). Just no way around it, if you want to learn you gonna have to spend a few bucks.

Hi Ron. I know that it has become an annual activity at the national convention. I tend to be able to arrange to be busy that night, but I am sure there are a lot of participants.

I am an avid, tandem cyclist and have been teaching my girlfriend to ride with me. We are up to 30-mile rides and she seems to be enjoying our time together, exercising.

She knows a Salsa instructor and wants us to take lessons, together. They are $60 per hour, per couple, I imagine. I look forward to dancing with her, but as a blind man, is Salsa dancing doable? I’d perhaps like to work with someone, for less money, if it’s going to take me longer to catch on.

Thoughts?

Thanks,

Ron Burzese, NOMC
