Hi Aleeha

Several years ago I started practicing barrel racing. I used a two-way family radio and my late husband gave me directions. He would say slight left slight left or slight right slight right lined me up with the barrels. I really didn't care about my time, I was just doing it for fun.

If you Google blind barrel racers you will find that there are four of them online and you can read their stories.

I used to show my horse, in western and English pleasure and halter classes. I’d love to talk to anyone who has done jumping or barrel racing before without sight. I’d love to do it, but convincing an instructor is a completely different matter entirely.
