[SportsandRec] Campsites and Hiking Trails

Hello,
Sanhoe, good questions.
How can you navigate a camp site well? Fields like camp grounds and parks
have few landmarks.
I think Joseph has good advice. Its not safe to go alone on something long
and treacherous like this.
Joeseph, I know what you mean. I also use a cane with my little central
vision. But the cane has missed rocks and ridges too. Its just not real
reliable since its so bumpy and even a cane with a roller tip cannot glide
well over rough terrain.
Sanho, to answer how I'd locate sites and trails, I would do research online
and also ask experts such as asking at a local camping store if you have one
and also asking at the park agency in the area. In my county we have a big
department dedicated to managing trails, parks and public camp grounds.
When I was a girl Scout, I know my troop leader would also read reviews and
call the site to ask questions about facilities, number of people it could
accommodate and other features.
If you need to use grills or want to light a campfire, this is also
something to ask as different sites have different rules and things they
provide.
HTH,
Ashley

Where are you located? Are you wanting something easy hard? Anything
particular you want in the camping area? I usually research or ask
people i know about places or ask them to describe something from
photos. Usually we got to places they been or have good ptotos and
reviews. I don't know how much vission you have but if not much or
none, i wouldn't go hiking alone especially for the fist time. i
haven't done it much but would hate to go on a trail and discover a
drop off the hard way. I know some good places if you want to discuss
places.
