Hello Ashley and everyone,
Skiball is different than bowling. Instead of knocking down pins the idea is to cause your balls to land in holes on a target similar to an archery target. The holes around the outside have low point values while the center hole or the "Bull's eye" can cause you to score big and possibly win a prize. The more your balls land in the bull's eye hole the higher your score.
Arcades, bars, and other establishments may also have bowling machines. There are two forms of this type of machine. One type delivers several bowling balls you throw down an alley as in traditional bowling. The rest of the game is the same as regular bowling.
In another variation of the arcade bowling game instead of throwing balls down an alley you push a puck down an alley coated with wax to allow it to slide. Otherwise the rules for bowling apply to both varriations of these machines.
This was back in the day when you used physical objects such as balls, pucks, guns, leavers, and other controls to play. I'm sure digitization has resulted in changes to how these games are controlled. And to think we can have the same gaming experience right in our living rooms.
