you're certainly welcome Helene,
a fire in flats or apartments as we call them, makes lots of noises,
hissings, squealings, poppings. also, there is a horrible stench
noticeable much further away than the sound.
now, of course of people are in the flats there are people sounds:
breaking glass to escape, screamings, yelling for loved ones or for
help. also, people jumping from upper floors, suffering harm like
broken bones.
two years ago we had a dreadful fire, a block of something like
fifty-plus units burned, three people died. dozens were
injured. also in the same year, a neighborhood house burned down,
killing five people, four kids and one adult. the stench from that
horrible fire lingered for months.
