[stylist] NFB slammed by director of movie "Blindness"

I just read the interview with Meirelles . Obviously, he knows nothing
about NFB or being blind. Going around with a blindfold that you can take
on or off at will is nothing like being blind. It's kind of like a mock
trial. No one is fighting to prove their innocence. I'm glad the movie
didn't make it in this country. It proves that NFB got their message out
and people listened! What he said about the economy being a factor in low
turnout doesn't wash. One of Hollywood's most productive eras was during
the depression. People wanted to be entertained to take their minds off
their problems. This movie wasn't entertaining and would only escalate fear
of blindness. I wonder if Meirelles would produce a movie about blind
people and all that they accomplish. I doubt it. He is too self righteous
to learn that his preconceived notions are fallacious. Judith
