[stylist] formatting

I selected the document, hit the alt key, O for format and then P for
paragraph. I set the indentations for 0.5 inches. When reading the
revealed codes it says that each paragraph is indented by 0.5 inches, but it
is anything but that. What is the formatting tool?

What did you try? The Reformatting tool might help. Unless the
indentations were entered by hitting the space bar, and then it won't.
