[stylist] Style verses opinions

Sometimes when people cratique your work they point out things that you 
like, say, author intrusion. For example: "And that was the last time he 
spent the night in that filthy little dump."

Some people say you shouldn't do that. it is author intrusion. Some folks 
say it works if you do it right.

Another example, "He had no idea how much he'd regret those words in the 
days to come."

It is one of those rules that really can work. I've seen it in Stephen 
King's writing, in Dan Brown's writing, to name a few.

I feel it isn't a right or wrong but a matter of style. People should never 
be afraid to speak up and say, well, this is my style.
