As for characters, Jordi from Star Trekreminds me of a few of my friends.
(smile)

Of course Homer was blind and Odyseuss blinded the Cyclops.  

There a few examples of blind people in the Bible, though we don't fare so
goodin most cases.  One Book in the Catholic is Tobit, a blind guy.  Isaac
could have used some time at one of our centers.

Yes, John Milton was blind.  But that's not what I meant.  I meant more like
books on blind history and novels with blind characters that are beloved by
blind people--if there are any?

John, The two well known blind personalities that come to mind are Stevy 
Wonder and Ray Charles.  I also think the classical author Milton was blind.

I don't know of any other specific author, but I know they exist.  Judith
