There was also a blind poet named Jorge Borges or something like that.  I
didn't much care for his poetry, but he had a lot of it.

I have ever read.  Privileged Hands: A Scientific Life by Geerat Vermeij.

How about "White Coat, White Cane"?

There are most certainly others.  They don't come readily to my addled mind.
