Some here may not know that Paul Harvey received mention in one of Dr. Jernigan's speeches for his comments on the Rithing, Itching drive for blind persons to be
equal or part of the mainstream, implying that this was not realistic. Later, although I don't know if there was a meeting of minds or if we just paid the obligatory fee,
he spoke at one of our national conventions in Chicago, and as I recall, it was a good speech.

Best regards,

>By now, all of you know that Paul Harvey passed away on Saturday. Paul was a brilliant broadcaster, but more than that he was an accomplished writer. He put
just as much effort into a news story about Kings, Presidents and warlords as he did about the common guy, you and me. Nothing was too minor. Gil Gross, in the
Paul Harvey radio slot, just played this story as told by Paul. "I got up on a miserable wintry morning and prayed that G-d would help me confront the weather and
give me the energy to survive it. In stead, He sent me wisdom. I rolled over and went back to sleep." Mr. Gross gave many other examples of Paul's brilliance as a
broadcaster. I think I just learned a lesson in writing that even the most credentialed English professor would be unable to relay. Sorry Lori, I'm about to go back
and make a few revisions. The lessons of Paul Harvey the author will eventually make their way into the hallowed halls, but no one will ever be able to recite them
as Paul did. Judith
