I had a radio show about 15 years ago.  I used to jot down my notes on 3x5 
cards like this.  When I was interviewing a candidate for family court judge 
I would write the word abuse on the card.  Just seeing the word I would ask 
her about child abuse, how it infiltrated itself into our society, what a 
judge did to help make sure it didn't happen again etc.  I did that with all 
my guests and when I had to speak for some time on the air.  I don't know if 
I can still read large letters written with black flair markers, but at the 
time it worked.  If one word can't jostle your mind to recall what you 
wanted to say, don't talk in public.  Judith
