Well, Nick was kind of a passive observer, what'd my English teacher call
him? "The ever-present Nick." It drove her nuts, this guy witnessing every
screwed up thing that happened in that book but not doing a thing about it.
She gave us an assignment, rank the characters from best to worst,
or in my speak least pathetic to most pathetic. Caused a good bit of debate.

Angela, I don't think Great Gatsby counts, didn't Nick tell the story?
And he was sort of involved in his own interesting way. I think.
