Vivian And STYLIST members

Vivian, it is great to see your presents on this list. I know that doing
your email right now isn't so convenient, but it will get there. In
welcoming you, I would say, that this list is typical of this sort of
communication type, in that its traffic in numbers of messages can go from 0
on one day, to a couple of dozen the next. Also, the nature of the
discussion will ebb and flow from pure writing to blindness and yes, to some
off topic sorts of things. You popped on the list during one of those rare
periods when our STYLIST family were heavy into some, maybe too off topic
things, but being the great bunch of people we are, we are working our way
back to the more normal themes of hitting the to big topic areas that the
list has been created for- writing and blindness.

I love it when we get into writing topics in the sense of some of the
mechanics and/or specifics of marketing, publishing, motivation, suggestions
and some of the unique stuff that is true for a writer who is blind
(though mostly you will see that writing is writing and doesn't have much to
do with being blind; the difference coming more in how we do it with our
screen enlargement and screen reading software or Braille displays). Then I
also very much enjoy are messages who's subject line would indicate a
specific blindness topic. And you will see over time that some of us prefer
one general topic area over another and tend to be seen contributing more
when the discussion is one of interest; actually, most people on this list,
approximately 90+ members will just set back and observe and I'm sure,
learn.

For you right now, I'm thinking that what the list can do best for you is be
open to your needs as a newly blinded person. And it is a plus for all of
us, that we and you have a mutual interest of writing, of artistry, which
will all go along way toward building a lasting bond. So please do share
your concerns and ask for information and guidance for your blindness
needs. And at the same time, do share with us who you are professionally;
what you do, and especially what some of us can do by hooking up with you,
writers to promoter. So be prepared for some pretty direct questions and/or
some strong personal sharing of blindness related experience.
