[stylist] Vista vs. XP

To convert from Vista back to XP, you would have to remove Vista and install
XP, which means you would also have to install all of your software and
settings and so forth. Big hassle, hours of tedium, and vendors like to
sell computers these days without the cds for the software so that you have
to go back to hem if you want to customize your system... Ugh!

Sorry you're having these problems. Wish I had something useful to offer.

Well, Judith, XP is far from perfect, but Vista is unstable at best and a
nightmare for screen reader users. It is designed for the people who can't
use a computer unless they are lead by graphics and other visual fluff to
what they should click on. No, I don't think you can downgrade to XP, (or
upgrade if you like that better) but if you can I would recommend doing it.

I read, or was told, ages ago that XP was the perfect version of windows. I
have no idea why they changed. Can you still get XP?

I seem to recall reading an article by a Computer tech in the paper that one
could somehow make the Vista work the same way XP did, but it's not
something you'll do yourself. You might consider consulting with Computer
techs
out your way, and asking if they know how to do this.
Hate Vista. I have an Apple, and now an Apple laptop, which I haven't set
up yet, but have no intention of trying to transfer documents. You might
try emailing them to yourself, and then importing them from the email on the
new computer. That might make things easier.
