Okay Susan, I just found your first message to the list and it very nicely
laid out what it is you write. (Sometimes I start reading a thread at the
most recent post, before I arrowing down to find the beginning message; Oh
well.)
And yeah, watch out for critical teachers.

Hi, everyone:
Good idea, Jim! Lori, I too liked your poem very much some great imaging!
I'm new to this list. My name is Susan Tabor. I live in Lawrence, Kansas
where I work part-time for a radio reading service and involve myself with
several other community and faith-based activities that keep me off the
streets and out of trouble--sometimes. My background is in social work and
chaplaincy. I have always loved to write. My first story was when I was in
3rd grade called SALLY AND HER BUNNY. (Since my parents wouldn't let us have
a bunny, it was a way I could have one!) As I got older, I ventured into
poetry and nonfictional prose. I edit a do a large portion of producing a
newsletter at work. I've written columns about peace and justice issues for
our church bulletin for years.
The sad part is that also as I got older, my forays into creative writing
became less frequent. I took an independent study in poetry writing once
from an author whose work I liked and for all intents and purposes, my
creativity was stifled if not temporarily killed--for a long time. She said
one had to write like Ezra Pound in order to understand and write good
poetry and I couldn't stand Ezra Pound.
I am married to a wonderful husband and we have 3 four-leggeds who are
felines: Friar Lawrence, Saint Vincent de Purr (Vinnie for short) and
Monsigneur Felix del Gato. They are delightful and all get along very well.
Well, enough about me. I look forward to reading, learning, writing and
growing with this list and the writers' list.
Best Regards,
Susan Tabor
